The construction material and its advantages
AAC belongs to the light construction materials with a share of around 20% of the German construction materials market. The popularity of this product can be explained by its many positive characteristics:
- A strong but light construction material with good static and construction physics properties.
- Indoors and outdoors it is fast, clean and easy to work with, even by non-professionals.
- Large blocks enable building to be undertaken three times as fast as for example with traditional bricks, with substantial savings in working time and wages costs.
- Tolerances of only ± 1 mm in height enable easy construction with straight walls
- Blocks can be cemented with thin bed mortar thus saving time.
- High insulation value saves additional insulation material.
- Handholds and tongue and groove enable convenient and correct building.
- The low weight of porous concrete and the use of adhesives lead to substantially lower costs for creating foundations and for steel girders.
- Excellent insulation values, reduces the costs of heating or air conditioning.
- Protection against fire and intensive heat for the highest fire safety standards.
- Enormously high rigidity with low weight also makes AAC a popular construction material in earthquake zones.
- Greater transport volumes in comparison to heavy construction materials reduce transport costs and protect the environment.
- With Philco, refuse generated during production can be returned to the production process.
- The steam condensate can also be recycled.
- The porous structure leads to a healthy indoor climate because the walls can breathe. People and animals feel better.
